Salt air changes the specification
A heat pump on the seaward side of Redcar lives in a harsher environment than one in Marton. Salt-laden wind attacks aluminium fins, casings and fixings, so units within a few hundred metres of the front want coated coils, stainless fixings and a siting position with some shelter from the prevailing north easterly. Servicing intervals matter more too: coil washing and fin inspection keep efficiency where the design put it. None of this rules out a coastal installation, it simply belongs in the specification instead of the warranty claim.
